Epic Universe's "Dark Universe"

For the next few posts, we will be focusing on each of the new sections of Universal's Epic Universe Theme Park scheduled to open late Spring/early Summer of 2025. As we mentioned in our last post, Epic Universe will be Universal Orlando's 4th full theme park to compliment Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios and Volcano Bay. And as we also mentioned, this new theme park appears to be a true game changer for Orlando's big two theme park giants. So let's dive into each section in more detail, shall we?

Universal Parks just released more details about Epic Universe's "Dark Universe" section of the park. Many of you know that Universal Studios has put out such great classic horror films such as the original Dracula and Frankenstein and The Wolfman. This new area of Epic will focus on those classics in it's theming. Here is what Universal has released so far to help set the expectations for when someone steps inside Dark Universe..."Here Dr. Victoria Frankenstein continues the work of her ancestors, bending the laws of nature to her own misguided whims. Dark Universe is a shadowy realm, a crumbling village of unescapable fear where myth and grim reality meet." It will be a land that is both family friendly yet offering a PG-13 type experience as well.

There will be meet and greets with some of the classics like the Werewolf, the Mummy, Dracula etc. Guests will even be able to go into makeup and costume and come out looking like one of Dark Universe's monsters and be able to roam through the park in character.

One of the eateries we are most excited about is "Das Steakhouse." This is a sit-down restaurant that will be ran by some vampires and Dracula himeself. Some tasty treats will be on the menu but you may also be sized up to be on a future menu. The artist renderings look amazing and we can't wait to see how immersive the theming will be.

An attraction we are most excited about is "Curse of the Werewolf." It is being desribed as a "thrilling but family friendly spinning coaster." Universal keeps pushing the technilogical boundaries and this coaster will be no exception to that.

From what we are hearing and seeing, this new Dark Universe land will be as immersive as Disney's Galaxy's Edge and maybe even more so. So to prepare for the opening of this land, we recommend going back and watching all of the great black and white monster classics such as the original Dracula or Creature of the Black Lagoon or Frankenstein. We think you will see that Universal's attention to theming and detail is second to none when this new park opens.

Are you as excited as we are for this new Orlando theme park? What are you most excited about? Comment below and let us know.
